35052 PIKO G SmartBooster Set 5A (G-Scale)

For larger DCC track layouts, the PIKO G-SmartBooster Set 5A provides additional power. The layout is divided into two or more electrically isolated track sections or “blocks”, with the first block powered by the SmartBox base unit and each additional block powered by a SmartBooster. Trains run seamlessly from one block to the next.

Up to 10 boosters can be connected. Just like the SmartBox, output voltage is adjustable from 16-22V. Maximum current 5A per booster. Operating power is supplied to each booster by the included switching power supply (35023).

The SmartBooster acts as an extension of the SmartBox base unit, providing not only power but also digital communication with the track block. It supports modern DCC operation as well as older MTS decoders, plus RailCom and RailCom+, allowing trains with that technology to be automatically identified to the system, even in the booster blocks. The simple connection to the PIKO G-SmartBox and track block makes it easy to expand a layout.

Note: The SmartBooster does not function on its own. It must be connected to the SmartBox base unit in order to operate.
