Prototype and model:

In order to speed up or simplify the change of direction in terminus and reversing stations, DB AG procured control cars for long-distance trains with a speed of up to 200 km/h from 1996. Among other things, twelve printer-compatible IC control cars were manufactured. In 2009, DB AG launched the IC mod. project to modernize the more than 40-year-old Intercity coaches. The PIKO model of the modernized IC control car, in combination with the matching cars, makes it possible to form prototypical long-distance train sets on the garden railway layout. The model impresses with its harmonious paintwork and printing, detailed interior and excellent running characteristics. The model is prepared for the uncomplicated retrofitting of interior lighting.
